About Ridgeview Retreat

We take great pride in our property and ensure everything is in tip-top shape for your stay.

We only rent Ridgeview Retreat in the summer months from the end of May until the weekend after Labour Day. In the spring and fall we clean-up and do renovations and and we close entirely for the winter.

Ridgeview Retreat became ours in September 2013 and we spent 2014 renovating so it was suitable for guests. It is adjacent to adjacent to our family’s other cottages, Jake’s Place and Cliffside.

Jake’s Place, beside Ridgeview Retreat, is not used currently. We have to rebuild it in a few years. We stay at Cliffside on the other side of Jake’s Place.

We’re close by if we’re needed but far enough away that you can have privacy.

Ridgeview Retreat is no longer available for rental.

During renovations to our main cottage, Cliffside, we are staying at Ridgeview Retreat so it is not available for booking.

Renovating in cottage country, during a pandemic, is difficult as trades and materials are not readily available. The renovation of Cliffside has gone slower than anticipated despite being on-site and doing a lot of the work ourselves.

Currently, work will extend through the 2024 season. Since there are new rules governing short term rentals in the City of Kawartha Lakes, we have decided to no longer rent Ridgeview Retreat to others.
